Tony's Two Cents May 29, 2012

Hey guys it’s Tony back with another review but I don’t have CD’s to review from the Cypress park library so I'm doing something a little different this time.

So the “trend” is most likely rap. A lot of people listen to hip-hop and rap so they might know what I’m talking about. You might hear people say “YOLO” which stands for You Only Live Once. People say this because of the song,”The Motto” by Drake ft. Lil Wayne and Tyga which is off the "Take Care" album. However, “You Only Live Once” was not the first song that contained this. The first people to actually have it in a song were a rock band. Yup! A rock band. Who knew? Maybe Drake listened to rock. The band is called Suicide Silence and the song is off of the album “The Black Crown”. It’s actually a pretty catchy song.

Both of these songs are true but they both sound pretty cool. The Motto has a catchy vibe that makes me want to rap it every single time I hear. In S.S’ version the rhythm is so catchy there’s a feeling I get I want to head-bang to this song. Even though I don’t like rap I suggest you listen to these songs. They’re really catchy even the changes of the song I think the dynamics are what matter in the song.

Both of the songs have different meanings to, “You Only Live Once”. Drake says it because he’s referring to need to live each day as if it was your last and you should follow the motto to see what he’s talking about. In S.S’ case it just states do whatever you want and don’t let anybody tell you to do it right.

Well guys I’ll see you all next week and remember what I talked about…YOLO. Bye guys
